About Us

A little about us!

Hi, I’m the Debbie behind Debbie Gillespie Cake Design.  I am an award-winning wedding cake designer, self-confessed Star Wars geek, lover of sushi and the Big Bang Theory.  I spend my days in my cosy Huddersfield workshop, singing along loudly to Radio 2 and creating edible works of art.

My passion is to provide innovative designs for creative couples who want their wedding to truly reflect their personalities.  I take inspiration from my glorious Yorkshire countryside surroundings and specialise in unique designs using natural textures, bold florals and delicate handpainting.  However, I also have a naughty and geeky alter-ego and love nothing more than adding quirky elements, for example, favourite films, pastimes, pets etc to make something that is truly tailored to the couple and their story.

Do you want a cake maker who will listen to your ideas and dreams (however crazy) and then turn them into something delicious and fabulous?   I ultimately want each customer to feel special, have fun choosing their cake and to experience the excitement and passion that I have for my craft and the little bit of my soul that goes into every creation.  It is not just a cake, it should be an experience!!

Our consultation process

Our free, no obligation wedding cake consultation days are held every month between September and May and gives you the chance to learn more about us whilst we hear more about your design ideas over tea and a selection of our most popular cake flavours.

Dates for our consultation events are regularly posted on Facebook or our Events Page.  If you would like to book a space, please contact us either via our Contacts Page or direct on info@debbiegillespiecakedesign.co.uk.
